The Handing Over ceremony of the Mobile Health Unit to the Greater Chennai Corporation, through the Commisoner Mr. GANGANDEEP SINGH BEDI.
This morning, we handed over the exclusive MOBILE HEALTH UNIT, which will be used for vaccinating 3 people at a time and at any location that the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), wishes to choose
This self contained mobile unit is replete with cold storage equipment to store the vaccines, a examination cum resting bed for patients who develop any adverse reactions, a bio toilet, a reception area and three comfortable chairs for people to be vaccinated, 3 at a time.
It is fully Air conditioned with a captive power unit. On the outside, there is an extendable Awning, to provide some shade for the people lined up for vaccination.
The unit was handed over by our President Kapil Chitale to Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi IAS, the Commissioner of the GREATER CHENNAI CORPORATION, in the Corporation's office in the Famous and Majestic RIPPON BUILDING.
This was in the presence of Mr. Vishu Mahajan IAS, Joint Commissioner, other Corporation officials and many of our Rotarians and Donors too.
We had PDG. J.B.Kamdar, Secretary Prasad, Pres. Nominee Jayashree Sridhar, Director N.Prakash, Co Chair Pandemic and Disaster Mitigation committee, PP. Dr. Gauthamadas Udupi, Director Shanno Ravi, Director Bobby Balakrishna, committee member A.M.Visvanathan, M. Srinivasan, our member and Donor Ramakanth Akula, Deepak Chander and PP. N.K.Gopinath. Also present was Rtn. PP. Vinod Saraogi of the Rotary club of Madras Central.
The self propelled Mobile Unit, has costed around Rs. 50 lakhs and has been fully funded by our own Rotarian through their own corporate organizations.
It was flagged off in our presence to Kannagi Nagar, where the first batch of 150 doses of vaccinations are going to take place through our Mobile unit.
In all, RCM has extended Rs.2.30 crores on Covid related activities alone this year.
A very gratifying and satisfying morning, it has been.

The mobile Vaccination unit, reached the first destination as mentioned above and started vaccinating people in right earned.
First camp kicked off at the slums of Kannagi Nagar. 150 people were vaccinated. The van will from today vaccinate 250 to 300 people every day for the next 365 days and more.
