Empowering Women

Various streams of vocational skills have been identified and skill development agencies in these fields have engaged to ensure that the best training is offered.

Training

This centre focuses on training women in the local neighbourhood. Both basic tailoring and advanced courses are being offered. Once they complete the six-months course, the women are better equipped to be self-employed tailors or seek gainful employment. This program has been running for over 30 years. Around 200 women are trained every year.

Digital Literacy

Started in 2012, this program aims to train women in the basics of computer usage and application to make them ready for employment. Around 250 women are trained every year and they go on to work as data entry operators in various establishments. Others undergo further advanced training programs in computer application. All courses are free and meant for students who belong to the economically underprivileged sections of society.
