Overview
This morning, 27 Mar 26, a little band of about ten RCM members made a very special visit to Sullerikattukuppam, the fishing hamlet where our club undertook Tsunami rehabilitation work almost 22 years ago.
We went there at the community’s invitation, as they wished to honour our club, and particularly Rtn Vivek Harinarain, who poured his heart and soul into working with the Government of Tamil Nadu to secure official
land documents (Pattas) for the residents. These are families who have lived on that land for generations, yet for years never had the dignity and security of being recognized as its rightful owners. Today, they elebrated that longawaited recognition. The event itself was simple, crisp, and deeply moving. The villagers spoke with warmth and pride, expressing their heartfelt satisfaction and gratitude for our role in facilitating this milestone in their lives.
